Dr. Daniel Sampson
Dr. Sampson has been in practice with OMS Specialists since 1998. He practices at the Maple Grove, Waconia and St. Anthony offices. He is on the medical staff at Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis, North Memorial Medical Center, Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia and Fairview University Hospital. He is an active participant in the Children’s Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic and Craniofacial Clinic.
Dr. Sampson practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant reconstruction, surgical treatment of oral pathology and orthognathic surgery. He has special interests in cleft lip and palate/craniofacial deformities, sleep apnea treatment and distraction osteogenesis. He collaborates with ENT surgeons, sleep specialists and other medical professionals in his care of complex patients.
He received his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His dental school education was at the University of Minnesota, graduating with honors. He received his medical training at the University of California-Davis and completed residency training at the University of California-San Francisco. During his residency training, he served for one year as a general surgery resident. He also spent part of his residency in Stoke-on-Trent, England receiving extended training in reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Sampson is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also maintains active membership in the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, American Cleft Palate Association, American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine and American Dental Society of Anesthesia. He serves on the Peer Review Committee for the Minneapolis District Dental Society. He is licensed to practice both medicine and dentistry in the State of Minnesota and maintains a license to practice medicine in the State of California. In addition, he volunteers his time to Sharing and Caring Hands Dental Clinic and Donated Dental Services.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, downhill skiing, SCUBA diving and snorkeling and making stained glass panels.
